While exiting the mall, the electronic door blocked me.
Why?
I've not paid.
"We got you, shop lifter." I imagined them saying.

I was escorted back to the cashier.

But I've already paid (with cash) at the checkout point. I showed her the receipt from my shopping bag. Aren't you the one that issued me this receipt?

She read the receipt and then began to apologize. I don't know if she did it deliberately or otherwise. The electronic tag on one of my purchases wasn't deactivated. Hence the alarm at the exit when I was on my way out a few minutes ago.

If I hadn't produced the receipt, I would have been arrested and jailed - in the US of A, for a crime I never committed 😭.

This happened in San Antonio in 2013.
