Thanks for these insights. I'm not an American & so may not be able to relate with or agree with all your points. As a Christian I appreciate all the light you shine. I'm taking home with me (to Nigeria) many lessons from this great essay. Indeed nobody has the right to passivity or being permanently cocooned in others hurting blindspots.
