One time while in the US, I hailed a taxi driver who failed to pick me up after I closed from training for that day.
The following morning I calmly vented my frustration, "When you failed to turn up, I was left stranded for long in the chilly weather....." The bloke reported me and my effrontery (challenging an American) cascaded back to my Nigerian office. My Nigerian manager didn't stand for me.
That was how I almost lost my job for daring to tell an American (he was on court mandated community service) to treat me with respect & the dignity I deserve.
Many Nigerians treat their fellow Nigerian Black man with undeserved indignities only to cry racism when the White man does the same. Many of our people are mentally enslaved.
Indeed, we need to reemphasize mental. deliverance.
Thanks for highlighting this common aberration of our people and putting it so well.
