Indeed, as Christians, we are in the world but not of the world. Apostle Paul wrote,
Philippians 3:20 (KJV)
For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:
John 17:14βββ16 (KJV)
βI have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil. They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.β
This simply means, run away from sin. And God Himself is the One who give believers the strength to live victoriously over sin. John 1:12.
Many strange things are happening in the name of Christianity these days. But, that must not lead us to change our convictions.
You write beautifully. I am a Christian & I plan to write on some βstrange fireβ unChristian practises in the church that cause doubt, backsliding and even unbelief to former Christians and non Christians.
John 8:32 (KJV)
And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
John 8:36 (KJV)
If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
