Some ladies feel entitled to the older men's money and resources but have no scrupples withholding their hearts and affections from the older men. They literally run away from the men, basing their decisions on flat generalizations that all older men are out to manipulate all younger women.

That is not true and they know it.

When a man has affection for a woman, the woman literally has the man in his pocket. The man may or may not know nor mind it. Why? All for love. Yet the younger ladies impugn manipulation and malicious control on all men.

Developmental wise, most ladies tend to be older (in this respect) than boys or men of same age as these ladies.

I dare say some ladies are as manipulative or eben more so than the older men due to already stayed reasons.
